Toyota fastest in Free Practice three

With the quickest time of the day – a 1:38.969 – the Toyota #7 topped the timing sheets in the third free practice. In LMP2 the Vaillaint Rebellion #31 leads the class while Stefan Mücke and Olivier Pla were fastest in the LMGTE-Pro.

Following on from the team’s disappointment at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, where the three-car Toyota team had been looking strong before being struck by mechanical issues in the night, the Japanese marque will be looking to close the gap to Porsche in the world championship at the Nürburgring.

After a strong lead on friday the Porsche finished Saturday’s free practice in third and fourth position with a lap time of 1:40.635 and wasn’t able to take the top position. In LMP2, Vaillante Rebellion #31 posted the quickest time, followed by Signatech Alpine Matmut #35 and Jackie Chan DC Racing #38.

The #66 Ford GT of Stefan Mücke and Olivier Pla was the quickest LMGTE-Pro car of the day, followed by the Ferrari 488 GTE #71 and the AF Corse sister car #51. The LMGTE-Am lead was taken by Marvin Dienst in the Porsche 911 GTE #77.
