A brilliant lap by Antonio Fuoco put the #50 AF Corse Ferrari on pole position for the 2024 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. The Italian’s time 2:02.600 was over half a second faster than anyone else in the 12-minute Hyperpole session.
Lining up alongside the Ferrari will be #5 Porsche, which was qualified in P2 at the hands of Qatar poleman Matt Campbell. Third-fastest in the Hyperpole session was the #2 Cadillac, with the #99 Proton Competition alongside in fourth position.
The surprise of the day came in the earlier Qualifying session, with the #51 AF Corse Ferrari and the #7 Toyota GR010 Hybrid not making it through to Hyperpole at all. The #51 will start from 11th on the grid, while the #7 Toyota – currently second in the championship – is all the way back in P15.
Iron Dames with first pole of 2024 in Spa
Belgian driver Sarah Bovy secured pole position for the #85 Iron Dames Lamborghini Huracan at her home race. Josh Caygill qualified his #95 United Autosports McLaren 720S on the front row for the first time this season, posting the second-fastest time in Hyperpole.

The session was disrupted after Aliaksandr Malykhin suffered an enormous accident at Eau Rouge. Malykhin, who was on pole at the last race in Imola, thankfully emerged from his wrecked Porsche 911 GT3 R unhurt. It remains to be seen whether the Porsche will be able to be repaired for Saturday’s race.
