The #50 AF Corse Ferrari led the timesheets after three hours of free practice at the 6 Hours of Imola on Friday. Antonio Fuoco was the only driver to dip below the 1:31s with a fastest time of 1:30.957 in FP2.
Second-fastest was the #6 Porsche 963 of Kévin Estre around three tenths further back, with the #83 Ferrari in third position after the first two free practice sessions.
Toyota also looked in good shape on the first day of running in Emilia Romagna, with Brendon Hartley’s 1:31.729 around seven tenths short of Fuoco’s fastest time.
Peugeot’s significantly updated 9X8 makes its debut at the this weekend’s 6 Hours of Imola, and the French squad looked to be competitive straight out the box with their new Hypercar challenger. Mikkel Jensen was the fastest of the team’s six drivers with a 1:31.964.
Local favourites Lamborghini raised some eyebrows with a 1:32.015 in FP1 – the fourth-fastest time of the session – for Mirko Bortolotti. The team’s HQ is a stone’s throw from Imola in Sant’Agata Bolognese, just north of nearby Bologna.
TF Sport Corvette the team to beat so far in LMGT3
Both the #81 and #82 TF Sport Corvettes were dialled in right from the start of Imola Friday practice, setting the fastest times in both sessions. Charlie Eastwood was the only driver to go lower than 1:42 in either session, setting a fastest time of 1:41.986.
The closest challenger was Alessio Rovera in the #55 AF Corse Ferrari two tenths back. The #27 Heart of Racing Aston Martin was fourth fastest across the two sessions.
