Among a flurry of announcements on the eve of the 2019 24 Hours of Le Mans, the FIA WEC also revealed the entry list for the 2019/20 season.

Eight cars are set to compete in LMP1, with Ginetta making a welcome return to the top category after team funding issues stunted the team’s 2018/2019 Super Season effort. Current competitors ByKolles Racing are missing from the full-season entry and are aiming to compete in certain European rounds while focusing on development of their new hypercar entry from 2020/2021.

In LMP2, United Autosports, High Class Racing, Jota, Cool Racing and Cetilar Racing all join the fray from various ACO-sanctioned series. All but two of the cars on the LMP2 grid will be Orecas, following Racing Team Nederland’s switched from Dallara to the French chassis.

The much-anticipated cull in the GTE Pro field leaves just six cars to compete for honours, although the quality is undeniable. Full factory efforts from Porsche and Aston Martin will go up against the quasi-works AF Corse Ferrari 488 GTE EVOs.

Growth is also seen in GTE Am with the addition of a second Team Project 1 car and an entry from ELMS crew Red River Sport with a Ferrari 488 GTE EVO.
