AO by TF took the victory at the latest round of the ELMS in Spa. Louis Delétraz, Jonny Edgar and Robert Kubica prevailed in a four-hour race that offered exciting action right to the final lap.
The #14 AO by TF Oreca recorded its first victory of the season, rounding off a successful weekend that also saw the crew secure pole position. Delétraz expertly handled the final stint but was under significant pressure from his rivals behind. In the end, the Swiss driver crossed the line just 1.1 seconds ahead of Frenchman Tom Dillmann in the Inter Europol Competition car.
The race got off to a clean start, but the safety car was then required just 15 minutes into the four-hour event – and a further three times before the chequered flag. Despite the interruptions, the four-hour ELMS race at Spa remained full of excitement with wheel-to-wheel battles across all three classes.
Wins for AF Corse and Euro International
AF Corse came through with the win in the LMP2 Pro/Am classification. Reigning champions François Perrodo, Alessio Rovera und Matthieu Vaxiviere took their second victory of the season, just edging out the Algarve Pro Racing Team crew.
Matt Bett and Adam Ali from Euro International celebrated their second LMP3 victory in succession, recovering from an early spin at Les Combes to win by 14 seconds from the Racing Spirit of Leman Ligier.
All-Ferrari podium in LMGT3
Ferrari dominated proceedings in the LMGT3 category. The #57 machine of Takeshi Kimura, Esteban Masson and Daniel Serra handed the team a comprehensive win by a distance of one lap. Second was GR Racing and third was AF Corse.
The next round of the ELMS sees the teams travel to Mugello at the end of September. The season then concludes in October in Portimao.
