The FIA World Endurance Championship took the opportunity at this year’s 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans to unveil its 2025 calendar.
The schedule for 2025 remains almost entirely unchanged, with the world championship taking in a total of 8 rounds across 4 different continents
The championship begins in Qatar in late February before returning to Europe for the 6 Hours of Imola and Spa in April and May respectively and the season showpiece in Le Mans in mid-June.
The 2025 calendar continues in July, when the WEC travels to Brazil for the Rolex 6 Hours of São Paulo. In September, teams will again make trips to the Circuit of the Americas and Fuji Speedway for six-hour races, as in 2024. The tradition end-of-season 8 Hours of Bahrain takes place on 8 November.
Imola signs new long-term deal
The Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari has confirmed that it will host an annual FIA WEC round until 2028. The news comes after a successful race in Emilia Romagna earlier this season, which attracted over 70,000 fans. The deal comes “with support from Imola’s City Mayor Marco Panieri” and involves a commitment “to improving paddock infrastructure including building extra pit garages”.
“To promote the spirit of Le Mans, the city of Imola and its staff have worked to connect the historic city centre to the race track,” Panieri said. “Thanks to this event we will be able to improve infrastructure like boxes and the fan zone, making visitors and staff experience more enjoyable.”
