Qualifying for the 6 Hours of Fuji offered plenty of drama and exciting, as well as a new name at the front of the grid.
Cadillac beat Porsche and Toyota to pole in Fuji
The #2 Cadillac V.Series.R of Alex Lynn and Earl Bamber will start Sunday’s 6 Hours of Fuji from pole position after an excellent performance by the US team. Lynn’s time of 1:28.901 was just over a tenth faster than the rest of the Hyperpole field and handed Cadillac its first ever WEC pole position.
Lynn’s time was just 0.041 seconds quicker than the #8 Toyota GR010 Hybrid, which had to settle for P2 at the team’s home race. Starting the race from the second row will be the #15 BMW and the #7 Toyota.
Vista AF Corse dominates LMGT3
The #55 Vista AF Corse Ferrari continued its strong form from free practice as Simon Mann set the fastest time in Hyperpole to take the pole.
Second-quickest was the #81 TF Sport Corvette, while the #95 United Autosports McLaren and the #85 Iron Dames Lamborghini will start from the second row.
