KCMG reveal new ORECA 05

The LMP2 team, KCMG, will go into the new season with a new car to match. After the manufacturer of there car, ORECA published images of their car for the first time last week, the images of the fully liveried KCMG car shortly followed.

Last year KCMG began a partnership with the French manufacture, ORECA. The Chinese team competed the WEC in their 03 model in the LMP2 class. The team had success throughout the year picking up three wins across the season. It wasn’t long until the team decided to extend their contract and order a the new ORECA O5 to run in this year’s World Endurance Championship. The switch to the new 05 chassis means that KCMG join the contingent of teams running closed top LMP2 cars. A trend which began at Le Mans last year with the new Ligier JS P2.

The new model was built based on the 05 also supplied by Oreca Rebellion R-One and optimized for use in the LMP2. When the engine is still relies on the partner Nissan and expanding its cooperation during the LMP1 entry of the Japanese further. As part of this partnership come closer in the future, KCMG Oils and Lubricants Motul the company used. Tire partner for the 2015 season will be Dunlop.

The new ORECA O5 is built using some of the principles that ORECA used when producing the R-One for Rebellion Racing’s LMP1 category. The engine that will power the KCMG run ORECA continues to be provided by Nissan. The car will be run on Dunlop tires this season.

The new Oreca 05 with the number # 47 will be on display at the official prologue to the FIA ​​for the first time on 27 March.
