Ford Dominate GTE Qualifying

The sun came out for GTE qualifying at Silverstone, and with it, quick times for Ford. Harry Tincknell and Andy Priaulx claiming pole position in GTE-Pro. Aston Martin replicated Ford’s dominance themselves in Am, taking pole by 1.3 seconds.

The #67 Ford of Andy Priaulx, Pipo Derani and Harry Tincknell will start from a class pole tomorrow after walking qualifying. Priaulx stared by setting a time 1 second faster than anyone else before Tincknell consolidated his team-mates time to take pole by 0.809 of a second from the average times. Sam Bird and Davide Rigon managed second fastest between them with the #95 Aston Martin of Nicki Thiim and Marco Sorensen third fastest. The #66 Ford of Mucke and Pla were fourth fastest with the #97 behind them in fifth. Porsche struggled to seventh and eight in class with the #91 and #92 cars respectively almost 2 seconds off the pace.

Aston Martin took a home pole in GTE-Am. Second was #54 Spirit of Race Ferrari ahead of the #77 Proton Porsche. Clearwater Racing’s Ferrari took fourth in class with the #86 Gulf Racing UK Porsche rounding out the class.
