Ford Dominate GTE Qualifying

The sun came out for GTE qual­i­fy­ing at Sil­ver­stone, and with it, quick times for Ford. Har­ry Tinck­nell and Andy Pri­aulx claim­ing pole posi­tion in GTE-Pro. Aston Mar­tin repli­cat­ed Ford’s dom­i­nance them­selves in Am, tak­ing pole by 1.3 sec­onds.

The #67 Ford of Andy Pri­aulx, Pipo Derani and Har­ry Tinck­nell will start from a class pole tomor­row after walk­ing qual­i­fy­ing. Pri­aulx stared by set­ting a time 1 sec­ond faster than any­one else before Tinck­nell con­sol­i­dat­ed his team-mates time to take pole by 0.809 of a sec­ond from the aver­age times. Sam Bird and Davide Rigon man­aged sec­ond fastest between them with the #95 Aston Mar­tin of Nic­ki Thi­im and Mar­co Sorensen third fastest. The #66 Ford of Mucke and Pla were fourth fastest with the #97 behind them in fifth. Porsche strug­gled to sev­enth and eight in class with the #91 and #92 cars respec­tive­ly almost 2 sec­onds off the pace.

Aston Mar­tin took a home pole in GTE-Am. Sec­ond was #54 Spir­it of Race Fer­rari ahead of the #77 Pro­ton Porsche. Clear­wa­ter Racing’s Fer­rari took fourth in class with the #86 Gulf Rac­ing UK Porsche round­ing out the class.
